XMAS CARD

Taking a nod from Stephen King's classic Carrie, and putting a festive twist on the macabre, I created a Christmas card that subverted the traditional standard Christmas greeting, and provided an alternative to the sacharine overtones typically presented to the public during the season. The use of the red dot on the back which contains the messaging, utlizes the theme of the core opening sequence of the film and book.

The front is a take on the traditional miseltoe imagery that comes to mind, but references the climax scene of the film, presenting it in a quirky and off-kilter way in place of the tradtional seasonal imagery fare. The font was chosen to best fit the christmas theme yet at the same time represent the horror film genre. I also took the image, as I knew exactly what framing I wanted for the design.
